Our Lives Matter | When a Community Comes Together Forum

On Saturday, January 17, ManCore Leadership Program hosted it's first town hall forum entitled "Our Lives Matter: When a Community Comes Together” at the South Bowie Community Center. We had over 75 Bowie residents in attendance to listen, share and learn from our stellar panel of professionals.

Panelist included:

John Nesky, Chief of Police, City of Bowie
Col. James Harper, Prince George's County Chief Investigator for State's Attorney's Office
Herman Taylor, Former Maryland Delegate
Daryl C. Howard, Ph.D.
Maurice Simpson Jr., Youth Advocate
Gary Brown (Moderator)

We had a positive discussion that involved audience members, law enforcement, academic intellectuals andpolitical leaders which offered different perspectives about how we can prevent the issue of deadly interactions between African American males and law enforcement and how we can redefine this relationship in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

This is just the beginning! We will continue to have these forum discussions with guest panelist and our community to bring our community together.  Here are a few pics from the event.
